For the Community, In the Community: Shacks Motor Group Donates $12,500 to WA’s Volunteer Fire & Rescue Heroes

At Shacks Motor Group, one of our core guiding pillars is a simple but powerful promise: in the community, for the community.

​Earlier this season, the devastating Warnbro fires hit incredibly close to home. We saw firsthand how deeply they impacted our local customers, our colleagues, and our own staff. Watching our community face that danger left us inspired—and determined—to find a meaningful way to give back to the heroes who run toward the danger when we need them most.

​That inspiration turned into action. Throughout February, March, and April, Shacks Motor Group pledged to set aside $50 from every single new vehicle sold across our four premium brands.

​Thanks to our incredible customers who chose to buy local during those months, we were absolutely thrilled to pool together a sizeable $12,500 donation.

​On Wednesday, June 17, we had the absolute privilege of hosting the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce After Hours event right here at our Smeaton Way Automotive Superhub. It provided the perfect, warm community backdrop to officially hand over the cheque.

​We would like to extend our special thanks and recognition to the incredible representatives who joined us to accept the donation:

• ​Tim Sonsee, Executive Officer, on behalf of the Volunteer Fire & Rescue Services Association of WA (Inc)—an organisation that has proudly represented WA’s FRS Volunteers since 1898.

• ​Craig Waters AFSM, Department of Fire and Emergency Services Deputy Commissioner.

​To Tim, Brett, Craig, and every single volunteer firefighter across Western Australia: thank you. Thank you for your heroic sacrifices, your unwavering dedication, and your tireless service in protecting our homes and our families.
